We hope that you have had a happy and healthy holiday. We know things are changing rapidly but we can only plan based on the current information and restrictions - so as of Thursday Dec. 30, 2021 9 pm we are planning a restart to hockey Jan. 2nd, 2021 but it will look different.
In late December KFL&A public health issued a Letter of Direction which impacts what we are and are not allowed to do on the ice until the letter of direction is lifted. At this point the City of Kingston protocols are in place until January 19th, 2022. No game play is allowed at all just socially distanced practices in cohorts of 10. - We are permitted to have two cohorts on the ice at one time - BUT - they must stay at opposite ends of the ice. So one cohort of ten is on the west end of the rink and the second cohort of ten is on the east end of the ice. The two cohorts cannot mix at all and must use separate changerooms. We are permitted to have coaches with each cohort on the ice but the coaches must remain with their cohort - they cannot go from one group to the other.
- Call ups or practicing with other teams is NOT allowed.Masks must be worn when entering the facility and are to stay on until just before going on the ice and putting on helmet and to be put back on as soon as you exit the ice.
- Change rooms are permitted with limited capacities with your cohort but we encourage players to limit time in the dressing rooms.
- 50 spectators are allowed per ice time at City of Kingston facilities and 40 at Henderson Arena.
- Entry is 30 minutes before ice time at City of Kingston Facilities and 20 minutes at Henderson Arena.
- Spectators must go directly to the stands (after assisting with skates) and must exit immediately - no waiting in the lobby. No food or drink is permitted.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE PER OWHA THAT TEAMS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN GAMES OR TOURNAMENTS OUTSIDE OF OUR HEALTH UNIT. THE LINK TO THE FULL OWHA BULLETIN IS FOUND BELOW.
So in light of the above not all programs will run between now and Jan. 19th

We also ask that you keep an eye out on our website and social media for changes to programming. We will send emails but the fastest form of communication is social media so we encourage you to follow Greater Kingston Girls Hockey Association on Facebook and Instagram.

What should you do if a player/volunteer tests positive for Covid-19?
If a player or volunteer tests positive for Covid-19 (either with a PCR or Rapid test) we ask that you inform your coach/manager as soon as possible. If you have had recent contact with the team, they may confidentially inform teammates about a positive test within the team, so that others can begin taking elevated precautions and seek a Covid-19 test as appropriate.
Individuals who have been identified as a close contact of a positive case must immediately stop participating in hockey activities.
